Helen H. Albee is a member of Henrichsen Siegel, where her practice focuses primarily on commercial law, surety law, construction litigation, subrogation, business disputes, and civil litigation. Ms. Albee enjoys particularly substantial experience in construction litigation, where she has handled a full variety of disputes, from payment issues to takeover and completion of construction.

Ms. Albee has extensive experience in all aspects of trial practice. Ms. Albee began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in and for Orange and Osceola County, Florida, where she regularly conducted trials in a variety of matters.

As part of her practice, Ms. Albee also represents businesses on an ongoing basis to utilize her experience as a trial lawyer to assist her clients to review their operations, documents and provide general counseling to avoid litigation whenever possible. Her clients spend time running their businesses while Ms. Albee provides legal support–each party focusing on their expertise.

Ms. Albee earned her J.D. degree, with Honors, from the University of Florida College of Law in 1993. Ms. Albee was awarded her B.S.B.A. in Finance, with Honors, from the University of Florida in 1989.

Ms. Albee is admitted to the Bars of Florida and Georgia, and also is admitted to practice before the United States District Court in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, and Colorado, as well as the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. She is also admitted to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Albee is a member of the Construction Law Committee of the Florida Bar.

An active community volunteer, Ms. Albee has served on the board of the Community Nutcracker for the past 5 years. She is currently the Board President. Ms. Albee is also the secretary for the Catholic Lawyers Guild and is active in her parish as well as her daughter’s school.

By appointment of the Mayor and upon confirmation by the City Council, Ms. Albee served on the Board of JEA from 2012 through 2015, holding the offices of Board Secretary and Board Chair. Ms. Albee gained valuable insight into the utilities industry and the business operations of a multi-million dollar municipally owned utility which serves approximately 1 million people throughout Northeast Florida.
